Yayeee! You have a bike and you know how to ride it!
City Stickers (renewal date is June 30th each year):
- City “Sticker” Tags bolt to your plates and change color each year. The plate below shows a cream tag. They allow you to park in the city and avoid pricey tickets and cost about $50.
- Once you have your title transferred and your bike is registered with the state (as evidenced by your fancy pants plates), you will need to get your “city sticker”. Even though it’s called a sticker, its actually a little metal tag that you screw to your plate. City stickers come up for renewal in the summer and you can buy them at the Secretary of State, found here.
- Cars and motorcycles both need City Stickers, but (pro tip) only cars are affected by the zoning restrictions in the neighborhoods. Motorcycles get to park with a great deal of flexibility, but they are still responsible for paying for parking in the green and white (previously metered) zones.
